Questions
- Does the current system have a way of exporing content that will allows us to import it into Craft?
- You mentioned that the new site will be geareds towards prospective high school students. How does that affect the overall sitemap / approach?
- Anything to know about IIT gloal nav button in top right?
- Do we know how the Prizes > MCHAP > Nominated Works section functions when there’s actual content? Will this be removed entirely?
- You mentioned a VR building tour. Is that just an embed? Or something more complex?
- Will application process stay the same (simple link)?
- Any other technical features or integrations to be aware of (that we know of at this stage)?
- Anything notable about the Newsletter signup?
- Are there any requirements and/or restrictions around hosting to be aware of?
- Would a CMS User’s Guide video series be useful (probably only if there are many folks working in the CMS with fairly regular turnover)?
Opportunities for Improvement
- Can we reduce content entry repition for CMS admins (via relationships)? Will also improve consistency.
- A “Content Builder” with dedicated blocks for things like prerequities and curriculum may help ensure content consistency across pages + sections.
- The Life section includes links to filtered index content (e.g. all Lectures vs. MLA Lectures), but this filtering isn’t available to users. The formatting is also different, which makes me wonder if the filtered MLA Lecturs page is manually curated.
- Possible Solution: Adding a category system to the back-end and filtering option on the front-end could benefit content admins and users alike.
- Are there any repetative tasks that can be effectively automated via the website?

Pitfalls
- How do you strike the right balance between content flexibility and consistency.
- Example: The Study section of the site is inconsistent and a bit cumbersome to browse. But I imagine the diversity of program offering requires a level of flexibility that’s leading to the consistency issues.
- Possible Solution: Craft’s entry templates might be a nice solution / middle ground.
- How do we ensure we’re designing and building something that will adequently adapt to their needs moving forward—especially knowing that they’re already anticipating additional features.
